Psy-Sisters is an inclusive music platform and record label representing gender minority artists in electronic and psychedelic music.
The project was founded in 2012 by UK artist Psibindi (aka Rena Biring) who had the vision of bringing together an array of talented women to host club events and build a network of female artists within the underground psychedelic trance scene. Rena formed Psy-Sisters with a group of fellow female psy-trance DJs and they have since established a leading global platform and record label to amplify the visibility of gender minority DJs and artists in the electronic dance scene. As a result, hundreds of women and non-binary artists from across the world have emerged to showcase their respective talents on the network.
The collective has achieved notable success thanks to two sell-out all female DJ events in London. They’ve also engaged with pioneering female DJ, Lisa Lashes at the Brighton Music Conference, and were featured in Thump by Discwoman founder Frankie DeCaiza Hutchinson. Their Global South campaign which highlights women and non-binary DJs who use music to fight oppression was featured in Mixmag.
Psy-Sisters have also collaborated with music tech giant Native Instruments on their London-based Native Meetup events held at Point Blank Music School.

History
Psy-Sisters released their debut VA ‘Ensoulment’, compiled by Canadian artist Kloud Nin9 in 2013. The VA showcases a variety of psy-trance music produced by women and non-binary producers within the psy scene.
The record label has since released a further three psy-trance singles following a global A&R search for female talent. ‘Atmospheric Pressure’ by Coral, ‘Greater Intelligence’ by Future Species and ‘Love Around Us’ by Shinouda are all available to buy on digital platforms. The label has also branched out into other musical genres and released two singles from alt-rock band Sentience Machine, fronted by Psibindi.
The collective is collaborating with charity Last Night A DJ Saved My Life [LNADJ] to raise awareness of the Set For Love campaigns.
To date, Psy-Sisters have ran a successful live stream campaign for LNADJ’s Set For Love Xmas Appeal, raising over £600 for sustainable projects in developing countries after featuring psy-trance and techno sets by DJs: Bahar Canca, Dot Dash, Ebru Al, Florescence, Jacki-E, Jesika Jane, Nuky, Sati and Psibindi. This effort placed them in the top 20 Set For Love fundraisers.
The collective have teamed up with Radio Cosmica Libre for a monthly Psy-Sisters takeover radio show hosted by DJs Hackie and Psibindi. The show shines a spotlight on emerging and established women and non-binary DJs with interviews about their careers and discussions on gender representation in the music industry.
